Description.
The characteristic of the hybrid coupler is to divide the input power equally amongst the two output ports. Application: RF Hybrid Couplers are used in many circuit and system applications, such as Test & Measurement, RF amplifiers, transmitters and receivers. The typical hybrid coupler is 3dB Hybrid Coupler, also known as 90 degree hybrid coupler also called Quadrature Hybrid Couplers. This requires the termination of one output port in 50 ohms, and results in a 3dB loss in each signal.
